Vitamin C is indicated for various conditions, including:
Treats low levels of vitamin C
Flushing, Flank pain, Faintness, headache, Diarrhea, dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting, Hyperoxaluria (large doses)
Vitamin C is necessary for collagen formation and tissue repair. It plays a role in oxidation/reduction reactions and other metabolic pathways, including the synthesis of catecholamines, carnitine, and steroids. It also plays a role in the conversion of folic acid to folinic acid.
Oral: This may be taken with or without food. The dosage varies for different conditions, such as Scurvy prevention, Scurvy treatment, Thalassaemia, Common cold, Wound healing, and others. Dosages are given in tablets and can be administered via IM/IV/SC routes.
IV Preparation: Dilute with a large volume of compatible fluid to minimize adverse reactions. Compatible with various diluents such as dextrose solutions, NS, LR, Ringer's, ½NS, dextrose-saline, dextrose-LR, etc.
IV Administration: Avoid rapid infusion.

Vitamin C may interact with Deferroxamine, hormonal contraceptives, fluphenazine, warfarin, elemental iron, salicylates, warfarin, fluphenazine, disulfiram, mexiletine, and vitamin B12.
Allergy
Vitamin C is safe in normal doses in pregnant women, but a daily intake of 5 gm or more is reported to have caused abortion. The drug may be taken safely during lactation.
Should be given with caution to patients with hyperoxaluria.
Should be stored in a dry place below 30˚C.
